Solvent-weld the socket end to 40mm PVC pressure pipe.
Use thread tape or thread sealant suitable for PVC on the threaded end.
Avoid overtightening threaded valves to prevent stress cracking.
Support the pipework to reduce mechanical load on the socket.
Allow full curing time after solvent welding before pressurising the system.
